Broad Scale Testing, Education

Does the Occupation of your Parents determine how well you do on Tests?

Data from the OECD PISA testing suggests that it does. Data is available for a number of countries including Canada and within Canada for Ontario and other provinces. The graphic shown here is for scores by students taking the Mathematics portion of the test.

OECDOccupation

This data was produced as part of a competition to model the OECD education data for a useR conference. It was produced using an R web application called Shiny. The app is prepared by Przemyslaw Biecek as a part of TJA fellowship.

The website of the app is here: Occupations@PISA2012.

It is pretty easy to play with.
